Brenna is a genius. I like that she addresses how exhausting it can be to constantly challenge traditional gender roles, like when she talks about helping out in the kitchen at family gatherings. I do the same thing- I’m overly aware of anything I do that fits my gender’s stereotypes. Inversely, I find myself very aware of everything that I do that doesn’t fall into traditional gender roles. It would be so much easier if feminism didn’t call on us to analyze and question everything. But it is precisely because it’s so hard that we realize how necessary it is.
